Job Description:
The Post - Production Technician position is an entry level position that will aid the JAMACO, LLC / Mello Farms team throughout the entire post-production cultivation process, including but not limited to the following responsibilities.
In this position, you will report directly to the Packaging & Logistics Manager.
The hours of this position are 8:
00am - 4:
30pm.
Responsibilities:
Post-Production Tasks:
Perform post-harvest processing, including trimming, curing, drying, and packaging of cannabis products according to company standards and compliance requirements.
Operate and maintain post-production equipment such as trim machines, curing racks, drying rooms, and packaging machines.
Conduct quality checks to ensure product consistency, appearance, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Packaging:
Package cannabis products in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate labeling, proper sealing, and appropriate presentation.
Use packaging equipment effectively and efficiently to streamline the packaging process and meet production targets.
Monitor packaging supplies and notify supervisors of any shortages or issues related to packaging materials.
Compliance and Documentation:
Adhere to strict compliance with state and local regulations regarding cannabis production and post- production processes.
Accurately record and maintain all necessary documentation related to post-production and packaging processes, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Maintain Equipment and Workspace:
Clean, calibrate, and maintain all post-production and packaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following standard operating procedures to minimize contamination and maintain a safe working environment.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cultivation and quality control, to ensure seamless workflow and high-quality end products.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production progress, challenges, and solutions.
Safety and Security:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
Follow security procedures related to the handling, storage, and transportation of cannabis products.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or coursework in the cannabis industry a plus).
Prior experience in a post-production role within the cannabis industry preferred.
Knowledge of post-harvest processes, trimming techniques, cannabis product packaging, andlabeling requirements.
Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in the cannabis industry.
Ability to operate and maintain post-production and packaging equipment and tools effectively.
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work during the first shift, including weekends and holidays if required.
Physical Requirements:
Per MA state regulations, qualified candidates must be at least 21 years of age, qualified to work in the US, and able to pass a background check may disqualify candidates based on MA state marijuana licensing regulations.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise trimming, packaging, and labeling.
